“She’s a balance of strength and femininity. She’s a blend of silly and serious. She’s a dreamer with her feel still on the ground. The kind of person that can find sun rays in a rainstorm. She is once in a lifetime woman.”
The pattern has been created 100% by me for you - from the first drop of dye in the pot to the last stitch. It’s designed with a luxurious Contessa in mind which you can get through my small online shop Cecily Grove Yarns. Here, you can find yarn kits!
The shawl begins at the top center and is worked outwards to the border. The main section is worked in Garter stitch with 6 rows of eyelets, then the knitted-on border is worked in a twisted rib feather pattern with a lace edge.
Size
One: approx. 180 cm/72” wide and 46 cm/18” long at center.
Yarn
2 skeins of Contessa by Cecily Grove Yarns (75% merino, 15% silk, 10% cashmere; 400m/437y per 100g) or any other fingering weight yarn which gives you the correct gauge.
Shown in colorway Ocean.
Needles
3.5 mm/US #4 circular needle (100 cm/40” long), or size needed for gauge.
Other
2 stitch markers, locking marker, 2 cable needles, tapestry needle for weaving.
Gauge
19 sts and 44 rows = 10 cm/4” in Garter st measured flat after wet blocking.
The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage, so I strongly recommend making a swatch and adjusting the needle size as necessary.
