Heart Warmer Shawl came to live as a larger sister design to a fun cowl I designed last year. It’s playful and uses just 2 skeins of Merino/Silk/Yak Singles, Heart Warmer Shawl is meant to be your go-to neck piece this winter and spring. Or even next :)

The shawl begins at the top center and is worked outwards to the border. There are two yarn-over increases in every row which create a long banana-like shape. The shawl is worked in sections, each featuring a different texture or lace stitch pattern.

Size
One: approx. 220 cm/86.5” wide and 60 cm/24” long at center.

Yarn
2 skeins of Thibetanus by Cecily Grove Yarns (65% merino, 20% silk, 15% yak; 480m/525y per 120g) or any other fingering weight yarn which gives you the correct gauge.
Shown in colorway Ginger.

Needles
3.25 mm/US #3 circular needle (100 cm/40” long), or size needed for gauge.
3.5 mm/US #4 circular needle (100 cm/40” long), or one size larger than gauge needles.
4.0 mm/US #6 circular needle (for BO only).

Other
2 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving.

Gauge
22 sts and 34 rows = 10 cm/4” in Garter st using main needle, measured flat after wet blocking.
The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage so I strongly recommend making a swatch and adjusting the needle sizes as necessary.
